In Sam's Name is excited to announce Toploader as the headline act for Spongefest 2024. It's an absolute privilege to have a group of Toploader's statues to be involved in our Mental Health Awareness Music Festival remembering the music lover himself Sam "Sponge" Fisher.

This is the "Home Coming" for Spongefest, having previously been held at Network, Sheffield over the last 3 years. Spongefest started out as a fundraiser after the tragic loss of Sam but has grown from strength to strength. This is growth is the same as the Talking and Peer Support Charity that is In Sam's Name that caters to both males and females in the Bassetlaw and wider Nottinghamshire area.

So who are Toploader?

Toploader are an English rock band from Eastbourne, East Sussex, formed in 1997,[1] with over two million album sales and several top 20 hits both home and abroad. Their debut album, Onka's Big Moka, sold over one million units and peaked in the top 5 of the UK Albums Chart, where it remained for six months. It earned them four nominations at the 2001 Brit Awards. They are recognised most of all for their cover of King Harvest's US hit "Dancing in the Moonlight" written by Sherman Kelly, which became a global hit for the band. Their second album, Magic Hotel, reached number 3 in the UK Albums Chart. The band reunited in 2009; they continue to tour and record music.

It’s going to be a massive day for mental health awareness and Worksop ðŸ§½ðŸ’™
