In Sam’s Name has had a very busy Christmas in 2023.

The In Sam's Name Christmas Day event was a heartwarming success, with over 20 people coming together to spread joy and kindness in their community.

The event was made possible by the generous donations of food from Samsworth and Rhubarb Farm, as well as individual contributions from attendees. The spirit of giving continued even after the event, as there was a excess of donations that were taken to the YMCA in Worksop to benefit the homeless sheltered there.

In addition to the Christmas Day event, the organisers of In Sam's Name also made a positive impact in the lead-up to the holiday. They distributed 28 festive hampers across the communities of Nottinghamshire where their meetings are held, with special thanks to Tesco and Morrisons for their generous donations.

This thoughtful gesture undoubtedly brought holiday cheer to those in need and demonstrated the power of coming together to support one another.

The success of the In Sam's Name Christmas Day event and the distribution of festive hampers serve as an inspiring example of the impact that a dedicated group of individuals can have on their community.

Through their collective efforts, they were able to bring joy and support to those in need during the holiday season. It is a reminder of the importance of giving back and coming together to make a difference in the lives of others.

From the sponsored walk back in January to the Christmas Day event in December, 2023 has seen the group put together events like these, while expanding out to 7 groups with two female groups now underway.

The hard work from everyone within the group and the local communities has been the driving force behind the group's expansion. Keep an eye out for another exciting year in 2024 for In Sam’s Name.
